Thieves on August 22 stole four water solar panels installed by South Sudan Red Cross meant to provide clean and safe water for the community at Enyif residential area in Torit town of Eastern Equatoria State.
South Sudan Red Cross State Director Janet Lakony Carlo describes the incident as unfortunate because it deprives the community of clean and safe water, Radio Emmanuel reported.
The Director tells the public to inform the police in case somebody is seen selling solar panels, pledging a reward to a person who gives information leading to recovery of the lost panels.
Ms Lakony said Red Cross with other partners fixed the water solar panels to prevent cholera outbreak among communities.
She urges the community to ensure safety and take responsibility of development projects in their respective areas.
