Yei Catholic Diocesan Counseling Centre during the commissioning of peer counselors and trauma healing guides on Friday for 2015, observed that imprisoning youth involve in drug abuse, like alcohol and other unwanted practices was not solution.
Yei Deputy Mayor Silvano Ali Sanguson commends the Centre for the initiative, saying they have problems with young drug abusers, describing them as reckless and chaotic in their houses, Radio Easter reported.
One of the Counselors expresses the need to fight against corruption, recalling her uncle who was imprisoned for selling a piece of land to five people, describing it as corruption.
Centre’s Director Sr Mercy Benson tells the participants to implement the knowledge they gained to mobilize youth to do more activities.
The peer counselors and trauma healing guides drawn from Rash, Yei Girls Boarding, Nile High and St Joseph Secondary schools was held at the Christ the King Cathedral Hall.
