Presidential Press Secretary on Tuesday disclosed that one-day mini summit bringing together Presidents of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Sudan Omer Hassan Ahmed El Bashir is expected to take place on Wednesday in Juba.
Ateny Wek Ateny told CRN in a telephone that the presidents are expected to talk to their South Sudan counterpart Salva Kiir on the necessity to sign the IGAD Plus Compromise Peace Agreement.
AFP reported on Tuesday that President Salva Kiir finally agreed to sign a peace deal and power-sharing accord to end a 20-month civil war.
President Kiir on Monday chaired an extended council meeting of national ministers, heads of commissions, state governors, and some political parties which agreed to study the agreement before signing.
Last week the government requested 15 days for wider consultation on the agreement prior to signing.
