It was officially opened by the Governor of Lake state.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Lakes State Governor, Tong Mayay said that Justice Africa is interested in helping the people understand the process of the referendum, explaining that the focus is on the implications of the Referendum.
The Governor further mentioned that the public should be aware of issues that can obstruct the referendum process.
Neha Erasmus, Justice Africa team leader, said that the organization faces the challenge of the vast territory of Southern Sudan to be covered. She however expressed hope that at the end of the dialogue, Justice Africa will have formed relations with the people of Lakes State to enhance further consultation.
Many organizations are helping Southern Sudanese in civic education before the Referendum.
