Auxiliary Bishop of Abuja, Nigeria reveals plan to start up a project of marrying girls and pay dowry.
 
Bishop Anselm Umoren during a public lecture at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Torit on girl child stresses that awareness program on girl’s education is important, Radio Emmanuel reported.
 
Bishop Umoren urges none-governmental organizations to use multiple approaches to tackle factors affecting girl child education.
 
Director General of Education at Ministry of Veterans Affairs Pierre Odongi Atilio notes that bad cultural practices affect school enrollment of girls in South Sudan and that due to limited family resources parents always prefer educating boys to girls.
 
The Friday public lecture as part of activities to mark the feast of Our Lady of Assumption on Saturday under the theme: ‘Together let’s celebrate womanhood, together let’s dignify motherhood, together lets’ celebrate the mother of God.
