Lily Kapuki Paul on Monday declared her defection from SSDF to SPLM in a press conference at Central State Secretariat as the party members chanted ‘SPLM Oyee!’
Minister Kapuki discloses that she was originally SPLM member dispatched to SSDF in a maneuver to advocate for South Sudan’s independence, hoping South Sudan warring parties would reunite for peace to uphold equal citizenship.

SSDF was founded in 2001 in London, United Kingdom by some exiled South Sudanese political leaders including Joseph Lagu, Bona Malwal and Dr Martin Elia Lomurö who is the current chairman and national Minister for Cabinet Affairs.
