GoSS Minister of Internal Affairs said police forces are prepared to maintain security in south Sudan during the 2011 referendum.

Gier Chuang told the press yesterday in Juba that his ministry is working hard to ensure that security during the exercise of the referendum is guaranteed for people in southern Sudan.

He said that a good number of police recruits will graduate to accomplish this task. Though the police forces are not enough to cover the whole region, his ministry would ensure equal protection to the citizens.

The referendum is less than six months away from now.
