Nutrition Director in Western Bahr El Ghazal State Health ministry Khamisa Ayoub advises mothers to bread feed their infants for six months without extra food as the world cerebrate Breastfeeding Week under the theme: ‘Let’s make it work’.
She says health officials are embarking to educate rural mothers more than the urban ones, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
Ms Ayoub says they are planning to bring exclusive breast feeding to cluster so that women are aware, pledging to provide shelter for mothers to breastfeed their infants every hour to avoid babies’ malnutrition.
Breastfeeding week is celebrated globally every year from August 1 to 7.
