Unidentified attackers in Wau County of Western Bahr El Ghazal State on Saturday killed at least two persons identified as Bassilia Payam Administrator Natalie John Frances and policeman John while leaving three others wounded including Paramount Chief William Khamilo Kagi along Ngo Kazi and Mboro Payams.
The community leaders were riding on five motorcycles when they came under fire at about 2: 00 pm, Voice of Hope reported.
The wounded Paramount Chief says the armed men shot at them sporadically killing two on spot.
Voice of Hope reports that the chief is receiving treatment at Wau Teaching Hospital on wound he sustains at the leg.
Western Bahr El Ghazal State Minister of Local Government Angelo Taban Biago describes the incident as unfortunate, saying it is a rebel act.
He says security forces are following rebel movement in the area.
