Magdalene Beato Atiol said the plan will be harmonized with NGOs who are other key players in the development of the state. She remarked that among the nine Directorates in her ministry, the Directorate of child welfare and gender are the most crucial affected due to rampant violations against women and children.
She underlined that women suffer diverse forms of abuse, yet the community considers it a taboo to report the cases for execution of justice, and explained that staffs at her ministry are trying to create awareness among the community, so that they report the matter to the authorities.
Ms. Atiol said that violence against women and children need to be addressed legally, politically and through public awareness to be curtailed.
