Radio Easter 94 FM of the Catholic Radio Network in Yei closed down on Friday evening after a lightning strike during heavy rains leaving some damage on equipments.
The Station’s Director Fr Emmanuel Lodongo Sebit says the lightening strike damaged two desktop computers, transmitter, its sound card and the VSAT internet system.
He says one desktop computer was repaired and that they are working hard to afford spare parts and contact technicians on the repair of the damage.
Fr Lodongo urges for prayers, telling partners, staff and the general public to remain patient as they embark efforts to repair the damaged facilities.
Radio Easter listener Fr Lazarus Mondua consoles staff to remain strong, calling on partners to extend support to the station.
The Radio Easter’s Director and the listener made the statements on Saturday afternoon in Yei after inspecting the damages.
