Assumption Chapel-Kalibala of St Theresa’s Cathedral in the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba on Friday commemorated the feast of St Ignatius.
St Theresa’s Cathedral Assistant Parish Priest Noel Nyombe while presiding over Eucharistic Mass recalls that St Ignatius who was a soldier at the beginning decided to join the Society of Jesus for the sake of serving God, Radio Bakhita reported.
He says St Ignatius was interested in reading the word of God, making a pilgrimage to the Promised Land and knowing the will of God throughout his life.
Fr Nyombe encourages Christians to do everything for the glory of God in whatever they eat and drink.
The priest calls on the faithful to emulate Jesus Christ by helping those in need regardless of riches and wealth.
Fr Nyombe appeals to believers to strengthen their faith and put God the first priority in all their activities.
