The President of the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS) said that every citizen in the region is responsible for his and her own vote in the forthcoming referendum.

President Kiir quoted late Garang’s words that Southerners are free to choose if they want to be second class citizens in their own country.

He was addressing the faithful at Saint Theresa’s Cathedral in Juba, after the Sunday Mass presided by Cardinal Zubeir Wako, Archbishop of Khartoum, and concelebrated by the Catholic bishops of Sudan.

They are gathered in Juba for an extraordinary plenary, which focuses on the forthcoming referendum.
