Juba University Students’ Union or JUSU on Saturday concluded the process of its referendum to have executive body selected either through colleges or political parties.

Students’ representative, Juaj Bol, told Radio Bakhita in a telephone interview that 1082 out of the 2500 registered students turned up for the exercise that started on Thursday.

Another student Riak Maker Mading says the exercise was conducted at an inconvenient time as exams jets in.

He urges Vice Chancellor Professor John Akech to disqualify the results because many students failed to turn up since the exercise was carried out on the reading week.

JUSU referendum was adjourned from June 24 to July 23 because of administrative arrangements.

The Union was dissolved in March 2012 after clashes among students resulting to the University closure for more than six months.

Efforts to reach Juba University Dean of Students Affairs for comments failed.
