Agency for Independent Media or AIM Director praised journalists in Juba Civic Engagement, citing recognizable improvement in media publication.

David De Dau says media practitioners improved in information accuracy and independence since 2005 and that more training seems to be sharpening them.

The Director observes that security apparatus have even changed their arrests or harassment approaches whereby they tend to confront journalists interviewing government critics after silent observation in a distance.

He recalls days back in 2005 that Members of Parliament used to run away from any journalistic microphone.

Director Dau made the remark while concluding two-day workshop on journalists for human rights equipping principles of participation, accountability, non-discrimination, equality, empowerment and legality in media engagements.
