Western Bahr El Ghazal State’s Wau Municipality says its emergency court is next Monday beginning to try suspected criminals arrested over night robbery recently.
Wau Municipality Deputy Mayor Santino Manut says the court trial for 31 suspects takes place as police intensifies crackdown on robbers, Voice of Hope reported.
He adds that the trial will not take human right as priority, asserting that the suspects will face heavy charges.
Santino Manut says the presiding judge has been empowered to sentence without defence lawyers by only considering preliminary evidences.
The Deputy Mayor made the statement while addressing Hai Jebel residents during a meeting on stepping up youth night patrol initiative.
