PACT SUDAN LAUNCHES CONFLICT RELATED REPORT

Pact Sudan launched a report to disclose the root causes of conflicts in Southern Sudan. The research book is entitled “Southern Sudan at Odds with itself, Dynamics of conflict and predicament of peace.”

Speaking at the report-launch Neha Erasmus of the Justice Africa said that the conflicts was due to contradictory and confused vision for the people Southern Sudan.
Ms. Erasmus said that a clear vision and interactions of the various ethnic groups were important to their realization of peace and harmony of the Southerners.

Professor Alfred Lukuji from Juba University said the long period of civil war changed the culture of traditional authority and conflict resolution to military.
Mr. Lukuji credited the effort made pack Sudan to come up with such brilliant report that would help scholars with insights into the historical conflicts among the Southern communities.

Ethnic Conflicts remain a threat to the lives of people and development of southern Sudan.
