Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocesan Chancellor reports that six thousand and forty South Sudanese Pounds was taken on Tuesday night from the Curia by unknown burglars.

Fr Diko Raphael says the burglars broke the main door of the pastoral building and entered Humanitarian, Development and Peace Offices and Store marching away with at least 300 Pounds contributed by Nzara parishioners to support Maridi displaced persons, Radio Anisa reported.

He condemns rampant stealing in Yambio, targeting church premises.

Fr Raphael urges faith based organizations to be vigilant and pray for burglars to be converted to fear God.

He appeals to the state government to intensify security to protect lives and property.
