Yei Prison authority has dismissed reports of suspected scabies affecting at least ten inmates.
Unanimous human right activist has assessed the prisoners’ condition, calling on health authorities to carry out necessary medical examination and care to prevent the suspected scourge from spreading, Radio Easter reported.
The activist suspects that poor sanitation could have contributed to skin illness showing signs of scabies.
Yei River County Chief Inspector of Prisons Captain Gore Wurjo Kenyi says there are no cases of scabies in the prison and that the inmates are in healthy situation.
