Bari Community or BC of Central Equatoria State has refuted a statement by Governor Clement Wani Konga claiming that its members are spearheading insecurity in the state.

BC describes Governor Konga’s accusations as ‘baseless’, ‘surprising’ meant to address some ‘hidden motives’, Radio Bakhita reported.

The BC adds that Governor Konga’s claim that Bari Community was threatening government is ‘extremely malicious and incredibly irresponsible’, citing his Mundari tribe mates and Dinka as being heavily armed pastoralists terrorizing the Equatoria region.

The community believes the allegation is intended to hurt the image and standing of Bari people among other South Sudanese as ‘disloyal’ and ‘unpatriotic’.

The Bari Community reminds Governor Konga in a press statement that Lieutenant General Alfred Lado Gore’s joining in SPLM/A in Opposition is personal or nationalistic like other community members but not on tribal arrangement.
