Nuba Mountains’ residents at Mendi area and some parts of Heiban County have begun planting crops after heavy rainfall last Saturday.

Resident Isaac Ibrahim Isaac tells Voice of Peace that farming began two days ago and that all residents should plant more crops to overcome looming hunger crisis in the Nuba Mountains.

He says continuous aerial attacks in the area have caused displacement of several civilians leaving them without food.

Nuba has been longing for rainfall since the last two months to start sowing crops.
