Yei Municipal Mayor has given three days for owners of unauthorized 135 heads of cattle meant for business purpose to evacuate the municipality.
Santo Paul Lasuba has met cattle herders and told them that unauthorized cattle brought into the municipality should leave for Juba to avoid crop destruction, Radio Easter reported.
He calls on Yei residents to remain calm and avoid taking law into their hands as government devises solution to cattle invasion.
The mayor made the statement following the entry of over 100 unauthorized cattle into Yei Municipality’s Freedom Square, Ronyi and Dam residential areas raising fears among citizens over crops’ destruction.
