Civil Society demands speedy implementation of Government-NGOs Forum

Civil Society Organizations in Yei River County of Central Equatoria Sate in a joint communiqué urges government and non-governmental organizations or NGOs to expedite the implementation of recent recommendations on round-table.
 
Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO Communication Officer James Hitler while reading a joint communiqué calls on Relief and Rehabilitation Commission to schedule a general meeting to harmonize cluster assemblies to agree on frequency of the forum, Radio Easter reported.
 
He demands for coordination of NGOs’ work, appointment of focal liaison persons, creation of NGO’s work space, and strengthening of Government-NGOs collaboration in information access.
 
Community Empowerment for Rehabilitation and Development or CEFORD Program Officer Khamis Benson also urges Relief and Rehabilitation Commission to speed up data base updating to avoid duplication in service delivery.
 
Yei Municipal Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba calls for cooperation between government and non-governmental organizations for accomplishment of citizens’ priority needs.
 
Mayor Santo denies reports that the municipality wants to chase out NGOs, arguing that government and development partners meet regularly on performance updates.
