Civil Society Organizations in Western Bahr El-Ghazal urge the state government to hold night patrol forces accountable for rampant robbery, killing and raping in Wau Municipality.
In a Civil Society Network Forum resolution Community Empowerment and Progress Organization or CEPO state Coordinator Stephen Robo Musa calls on the authority to order a joint patrol for proper accountability, Voice of Hope reported.
He says the Forum resolves that security officers should not be accommodated in hotels with firearms.
The Coordinator laments that increasing robbery and killing in the area is making many families and business people helpless, losing lives and property to gangs.
State Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan on Thursday gave 30 days for patrol forces to be evaluated for performance or lose their jobs.
