Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO is pleading to Defence Minister Kuol Manyang Juuk to single out SPLA elements destroying its image to save face of the national army.
In an exclusive interview with CRN, CEPO Executive Director Edmund Yakani says SPLA has turned violent against communities, confronting them and claiming their lives.
He adds that some individuals within the army are abusing powers by threatening lives of civilians.
Director Yakani says talk of pastoralists and farmers in conflict is cover language and that the reality is some elements in the army are arming pastoralists or they are the armed pastoralists themselves.
He urges citizens to voluntarily surrender firearms and identify those who are arming and providing military uniforms to community members claiming to be pastoralists.
CRN efforts to contact SPLA for comments proved futile.
