South Sudan government pledges to sell more than 50 thousand sacks of sorghum from Renk County of Upper Nile State to Bahr El Ghazal States at subsidized prices to save 150 thousand conflict victims.
Humanitarian Affairs Minister Awut Deng Acuil says the sorghum would be sold at 50 South Sudanese Pounds per sack and that a committee would be formed to oversee the distribution in the states, Voice of Hope reported.
Western Bahr El Ghazal State Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan says commodity prices’ rise in Juba has also affected Wau by 63.8 percent.
Leaders from Bahr El Ghazal States met in Food Security Forum organized by the National Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to rescue looming hunger across the region.
