Western Equatoria Governor after several security meetings in the state on peace strategies orders cattle herders to respect and immediately execute President Salva Kiir’s order to leave Equatoria region.
Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro says during a general public rally on Monday attended by National Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Peter Bashir Gbandi in Maridi County that to keep peace and cattle keeping communities should respect the order, Radio Anisa reported.
Deputy Minister Bashir urges cattle keepers to respect the dignity of the people of the state as they know very well that farmers depend on crop production.
Maridi Youth Chairperson Daniel Udada Gbandi discloses that number of causalities is not yet confirmed following the confrontation among cattle herders and local defence arrow boys.
He says there are many well-armed cattle keepers occupying the plot of Catholic Church in Maridi.
