About two deceased civil servants and fifteen none-existent workers have been detected in Eastern Equatoria state government payroll.
A preliminary report from the state verification team instituted last year to carry out reforms in civil service indicated, radio Emmanuel reported.
The team that was given a go ahead by the current governor of Eastern Equatoria state, Louis Lobong Lojore kicked off the exercise immediately after the swearing in of the new ministers.
The dead and the none-existent workers were found in the ministry of Culture and Social development, formerly the ministry of gender, labour and social welfare.
Eastern Equatoria state minister of public service, labour and human development, Emilio William Odingili confirmed the findings of the anti-corruption team who unearthed ghosts in the payrolls.

Mr. Emilio explained that the team is yet to establish when names of none-existent workers and the dead were inserted in the staff list.
He noted that the names could have lasted for years before the now government assumed office after the April elections.
He remarked that the aim of the exercise is not to victimize anybody but find out gaps that need to be filled so as to improve service provision to the people of the state
The minister revealed that the verification team has cleared most of the departments in the state with only two ministries remaining, adding that Counties and even Payams are the next targets.
