ARMY OFFICERS PARALYSE LEARNING AT A RUMBEK SCHOOL

Learning at Matangai Primary School in Rumbek Central County was paralyzed since Monday following the invasion of Army Officers carrying out the disarmament process.
Santino Maciek Marial is the acting Headmaster of Matangai Primary School. He told Good News Radio that the Army officers arrived at the School on Sunday and started breaking the doors of the classrooms to use them as sleeping mats.

Mr. Maciek also said that the staff office was turned into a prison, where the Army Officers brought in culprits from the neighborhood.

Mr. Maciek further explained that Army Officers on Sunday morning thoroughly beat him together with his wife.

He appealed to the pupils of Matangai Primary School to return to the School on Thursday to resume learning since the officers had left in the morning.

Marial Macueng, a Captain at Rumbek Police Headquarters, said that the Army Officers tortured him together with his wife, his children, and his daughter in law.

He added that the brutality of the Army affected many innocent civilians who were going about their daily duties.

The Army Officers vacated the School Premises yestreday morning.
