Lakes State Legislative Assembly Speaker has advised the state SPLM party to follow constitutional procedures to remove him from office.

Baipeth Majuec in a statement on Thursday said he was advised to resign during the SPLM caucus meeting chaired by State Chairperson Daniel Awet Akot on Wednesday, Radio Good News reported.

The meeting recorded 14 votes in favor of his stay in speakership and 11 votes in disagreement.

The Speaker questions the SPLM’s fairness in disregarding the voice of majority over the minority.

He says he respects the law if two third of the members voted for his resignation.
