Maridi Community members in Juba on Thursday issue a press statement demanding government to implement Presidential Republican Order No 17/2015 for the evacuation of cattle from the Equatoria region.

Maridi Community Association Chairman Aburahoma Saleh reads four recommendations as evacuation order implementation, no intrusion of Western Equatoria State with armed herders, SPLA protection without ethnic biasness, provision of humanitarian aid to Maridi conflict victims and fair investigation and justice prevalence on Maridi incident where about ten people are reportedly dead.

The community condemns invading cattle herders from Lakes and Warrap or Jonglei States who turn to kill Maridi natives indiscriminately following unknown grenade attack in their camp.

The chairman says the community regrets hosting the destructive uninvited guests grazing on farmlands.

The Maridi Community Association urges strangers in Maridi to reciprocate respect and civility accorded to them for peaceful co-existence to restore human dignity.
