SIHA calls for behaviour change in Wau

Strategic Initiative for women in the Horn of Africa or SIHA held community consultation in Lokloko area of Wau in Western Bahr El Ghazal State on violence against women to minimize problems facing females ended with a call for behaviour change.
 
State SIHA Program Manager Ramadan Adam Ibrahim says the aim was to consult chiefs, women and youth groups at the grassroots on how to address problems facing women and girls Radio Voice of Hope reported.
 
One of the participants, Raphael Dominic, says during the workshop, he gained skills on how to educate children in good way, urging parents to return home in the early hours and spend more time with their kids.
 
Another participant, Amona Adam Fadul, says before the consultation they were blind and some of their young girls became stubborn, calling on SIHA to continue with its initiative to change community manners.
 
SIHA started its program in Wau in 2013 and expected to continue with community consultation in a number of urban residential areas.
