Eastern Equatoria Government loses 50 percent revenue from trade

Eastern Equatoria State Finance minister says his government has lost fifty percent revenue collection from traders since mid December 2013 violence eruption in Juba.
 
Maurice Kaunda explains that many prominent traders from different countries deserted the state due to political instability engulfing the country, Radio Emmanuel reported.
 
He admits that many traders of Somali origin operating in Kapoeta Counties abandoned their businesses due to several reasons including failure to access Dollars for buying commodities abroad.
 
The Minister complains that South Sudan Central Bank fails to allocate Dollars to 12 companies recommended for Letters of Credit by the state.
 
50-kilogram-bag of maize flour in Torit market which used to cost 90 South Sudanese Pounds now costs 150 Pounds.
