South Sudan and China agree on education materials provision

National Education Ministry on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese education counterpart on the provision of education materials.
 
Deputy Education Minister Bol Makueng Yuol told reporters after the ceremony that China would offer a grant for printing secondary school textbooks, Radio Bakhita reported.
 
He says in the agreement, Chinese government would facilitate the printing and transportation to Juba while the Ministry takes care of customs, storage and distribution.
 
Chinese Economic and Commercial Counselor Zhang Yi describes the agreement as a cornerstone for future cooperation and development with education, agriculture, health, infrastructure and humanitarian needs as top priorities of the bilateral cooperation with South Sudan.
 
The Counselor notes that the Chinese government helped South Sudan build schools and offer capacity building to education personnel.
 
He said when the Chinese team returns to China, it expected to report to the Ministry of Commerce for the project approval.
