Karumba Mixed Secondary School Acting Principal in the Nuba Mountains says the school lacks laboratory equipments and textbooks for its smooth running.

Majidi Omar Khamis Tuesday told Radio Voice of Peace that the school since its reopening on the first week of April, faces lack of funds to support its activities with no electricity and that fuel is very expensive.

Mr Omar cites lack of transport to carry sick students to hospital as another challenge facing the School, disclosing that they formed a parent-teacher committee to help the community and local government mobilize resources.

Karumba Mixed Secondary School currently has seven teachers and 47 students, it earlier registered 90 students, but others could not turn up due to lack of fees.

The school closed in 2011 when the war broke out in the Nuba Mountains region.
