Eastern Equatoria State Assembly in Torit on Monday turned back a report from the recently formed Economic Crisis Management Committee over inadequate information.
MP Alphonse Chacha seconded a motion moved by MP Arungole Rhino to return the report to the committee for not naming companies awarded with Letters of Credit, Radio Emmanuel reported.
The motion compelled Speaker Alberio Tobiolo to urge committee chairperson, Cabinet and Parliamentary Affairs Minister John Ochan Bongomin to take back the report.
Members of the Assembly turned back the report after the minister declined to reveal identities of companies that were awarded Letters of Credits and give details on types, quantities of items to be procured, weigh bills and purchase invoices for items.
In the five-paged report, the committee details information on quantities of food items and their corresponding selling prices at local markets in Torit town.
The lawmakers also demanded that information on other major none food items such as drugs and fuel should appear in the report.
Minister Ochan who chairs the eight-member committee is given Monday next week to bring the report back to the Assembly.
