Legislature recommends government to limit V8 vehicle usage

The National Legislative Assembly on Monday passes a recommendation limiting V8 vehicle usage to presidency, ministers and other highly placed officials.
 
Deputy Speaker Mark Nyipuoch rules the motion that aims at reducing government expenditure that the assembly passes the recommendation to the Finance Ministry for redressing as a bill or policy before final approval by the Augus House.
 
NLA Minority Leader Onyoti Adigo Nyikwec recommends construction of roads for suitable use of some less expensive vehicle rather that V8 and that the critical economic crisis calls for quick cut down of government expenses.
 
Western Equatoria State MP Jemma Nunu Kumba cites cases of unfair deals where former government officials drive away vehicle as others faithfully hand over upon removal from positions.
 
Lakes State MP Zachariah Matur Makuer raised the motion and scrutinized by Joint Committees of Economy, Development and Finance before presentation in the Augus House.
