Western Equatoria Legislative Assembly on Thursday summons the State Commerce, Trade and Investment Minister to clarify some issues on high prices in the market.
Speaker Bage James Elisa discloses to Radio Anisa that the market is no longer friendly to citizens as prices skyrocketed and salaries of civil servants are not able to sustain their families.
He outlines that in December 2014 there was a forward of three million Pounds and again in January 2015 letter of credit came another to the state, but commodities did not yet reached to the state.
He adds that the companies selected are not seen or having any store in the state.
State Commerce, Trade and Investment Minister Simon Ngbiidigi cites factors including insecurity, political crisis having negative impact on the economic growth in the country.
He explains that Dollar exchange rate started coming down, prices of basic commodities are also reducing and that sooner or later the situation would come to normal.
The minister adds that the state government would try possible ways to rescue the situation.
