Pope urges Caritas worldwide to be close to people

Caritas South Sudan President says Pope urges Caritas organization and its staff to be close to the people of God in all situations for them to live in dignity worldwide.
 
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe on Friday told the press at Juba International Airport shortly after touchdown from Rome, Italy that Pope Francis is concerned for Caritas to help people and promote human dignity and development.
 
He urges South Sudanese to embrace the spirit of solidarity all over the country, appealing to all people to be involved in the work of charitable services in different dioceses.
 
Caritas South Sudan President notes that the ongoing fighting indicates that South Sudanese do not appreciate themselves, calling for the war to stop for development to take root in the young country.
 
Bishop Lodu says reports of the fighting in Unity and upper Nile States saddened them while they were in the Italian capital, Rome.
