The Union of People with Disability in Yei River County of Central Equatoria State is urging the government and development partners to extend support for running its activities.
The Union’s Secretary-General Dickson Mawa says lack of funds halted their struggle to assess persons with disability and community awareness, urging the government to clearly specify its budget line on persons with disability, Radio Easter reported.
Yei Municipal Assistant Inspector for Gender Child and Social Welfare Apayi Zabibu says the department lacks funds to facilitate the activities.
The leaders reiterate that ‘disability is not inability’, appealing for inclusion of persons with disability in all trainings.
