Dollar rate decline improves commodity prices in Yambio

The decrease of US Dollar exchange rate to South Sudanese Pounds helps prices of commodities to drop in Yambio, Western Equatoria State.
 
Anisa journalist toured Yambio central market on Wednesday and learnt that the exchange rate in the black market came between 850 and 1000 Pounds for 100 Dollars.
 
The reporter discovered that a bar of washing soap dropped from ten to seven Pounds, a packet of salt from seven to four Pounds and many vegetables returned to normal prices.
 
Retailer Josephine Ngbamborigbe discloses that 25 kilogramm of rice dropped from 300 to 260 Pounds and one basin of beans dropped to 95 Pounds.
 
She welcomes the improvement, hoping that local citizens would afford meals for their families.
 
At the beginning of this week, Dollar was sold between 1,400 and 1,500 Pounds, resulting to skyrocketing prices in the state.
 
Western Equatoria Governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro in his speech last week directed ministries of Finance and Yambio Chamber of Commerce to find a way forward towards the economical crisis.
