Economy and security talks dominate SPLA Day in Torit

Rising commodity prices and security situation in the country on Saturday dominated thirty-second SPLA anniversary talks at Freedom Square in Torit of Eastern Equatoria State.
 
State Governor Louis Lobong Lojore in his address blames the entire nation for the current inflation, citing dependence on imported food being responsible for the current economic meltdown, Radio Emmanuel reported.
 
Governor Lobong also urges citizens to protect South Sudan from enemies of peace, saying the country gained independence through sacrifices of lives.
 
State Legislative Assembly Speaker Alberio Tobiolo Oromo blames SPLM/A in Opposition for the economic crises in the country, warning those talking the language of war and that the state government would deal hard with them.
 
Eastern Equatoria State SPLM Secretary-General Joseph Kabaka stresses the need to continue with the struggle for peace and security in the country, calling on citizens to work for development.
 
Similar talks of commodity scarcity and road attacks were also mentioned in Chukudum where hundreds of organized forces paraded to mark the event.
 
Traders who traveled to Kampala, Uganda with South Sudanese Pounds returned without commodities due to poor exchange rates.
