The Chairperson of Economy, Development and Finance Committee in the National Legislative Assembly says the reduction in the oil production is the main cause of the current economic crisis in South Sudan among other factors.

Goc Makuach Mayol told Radio Bakhita that war forced some oil wells in Unity state to close down leaving the country to rely on the production in the fields in Poluch, saying South Sudan is not economically independent as it only relies on oil revenues.

He reveals a plan to hold a special forum to discuss major causes and remedies for the current economic crisis affecting South Sudan.
