Torit Catholic Church condemns attack on children at Miorok

Torit Catholic Diocese Apostolic Administrator condemns an attack of children at Miorok between Labalua and Idolu River along Torit-Kapoeta road.
 
Monsignor Thomas Oliha in a statement terms the Wednesday incident as unfortunate and an act that the church denounces Radio Emmanuel reported.
 
He notes that women and children often fall victims of such attacks, calling upon the society to deplore violence against the vulnerable people.
 
The apostolic Administrator calls on the government to beef up security in the state as Torit-Kapoeta road became a threat to travelers.
 
He calls for the perpetrators of the attacks to be apprehended to face the law to end continuous threats to lives and property of the people.
 
Monsignor Oliha consoles the bereaved families upon the death of their beloved and asks them to forgive the attackers, urging the suspects to confess, turn to God for forgiveness and end committing offences against humanity.
 
Torit County Chief Inspector Anthony Lodu Tombe says one victim of the Wednesday attack died on the same day while the other died on Thursday.
 
He notes that the two girls admitted to Torit State Hospital after sustaining injuries were attacked with four others who escaped unharmed.
 
Torit County Commissioner, German Ojok says the two girls were between eight and 16 years old.
 
Unknown gunmen attacked six children, killing two girls at Moirok between Labalua and Idolu River along Torit-Kapoeta roads in Eastern Equatoria.
 
No suspect is arrested in relation to the killing of the two girls.
