Community mobilization officer in Tonj South County of Warrap State on Monday says they celebrated Malaria Day on Tuesday instead of April 24.

Moses Maker attributes postponement of the annual event to logistics difficulties, saying the day aims at enlightening communities about the dangerous of the disease, Radio Don Bosco reported.

He explains that Malaria is a disease caused by mosquito bite, advising citizens that people who experience general body pain, vomiting and diarrhea need to visit a nearby clinic early for test and treatment.

The officer says the most vulnerable people are children, pregnant women and some people whose immune systems are weak to fight the disease.
