Aid agencies in Pangak, Upper Nile State stopped operations and aid workers left the area due to deteriorating conditions over the past days as they were facing restrictions.
UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs or OCHA in a statement on Thursday says aid workers providing emergency relief to conflict survivors in the area were harassed and threatened and their freedom of movement impeded.
The Office adds that the organizations are no longer able to conduct their work on behalf of populations in need in an impartial, neutral and safe manner.
It argues that the work of non-governmental organizations and UN providing relief in any setting is based on the principles of humanity impartiality and neutrality.
The Office clarifies that national and international staff members should be free to move and unimpeded to reach civilians in need.
