Sudd Institute Fellow on Thursday during a public lecture on forgiveness challenges South Sudan warring principals to offer sincere, genuine and symbolic out of hand holding apology to masses for a fresh national milestone of forgiveness, healing and reconciliation.
Reverend Dr Bernard Oliya Suwa warns President Salva Kiir Mayardit and SPLM/A in Opposition Chief Riek Machar Teny against cheap apology of empty words, lacking sincerity and genuineness, turning out to be an escape valve.
The analyst recommends development of shared vision of interdependent just society, acknowledging and dealing with the past messes for forgiveness, healing, reconciliation and restoration.
Reverend Oliya also recommends building positive relationships on diversity, changing attitudes and cultures of suspicions, hatred and impunity to embrace substantial political social and economic reforms.
