Central Equatoria Legislator says cattle herders defied President Kiir’s order as they are still occupying Kajo-Keji and Lainya Counties, forcing local communities to fear how they would cultivate crops.

Jacob Kwiyasuk in a telephone interview told CRN on Wednesday that Kajo-Keji communities are expecting ‘serious hunger’ as they are not planting fearing that the many animals moving all over the county would destroy crops.

He complains that the pastoralists occupied the area due to their hidden agenda because they heard the presidential order.

Reverend Kwiyasuk says they are behind the deadline of planting crops, urging the national government to take serious steps for cattle keepers to leave the area.

The State legislator discloses Kajo-Keji authorities’ plan to meet the cattle keepers to quit the area as soon as possible.
