National Education ministry delegation from Juba led by Deputy Director for Planning and Budgeting on Monday arrived in Yambio, Western Equatoria State to access achievements on peace building activities.
Victor Dut Chol says the purpose of the visit was to establish national peace building unit in the national ministry focusing on peace building activities, Radio Anisa reported.
State Education Minister Pia Phillip Michael welcomed the delegation, saying peace building is new in the contest of South Sudan demanding more efforts for its success.
He stresses the need to strengthen the existing peace clubs in selected schools as a pilot program, calling for the extension of the program to the other schools in the state.
UNICEF Juba Education officer Ticiana Garcia added that they would visit pilot peace building activities’ schools in the state.
In a related development, State Education minister met a team from ADRA Juba that went to access activities of the Parent-Teacher Association in 12 schools in Yambio.
