Wau Catholic Diocese celebrates the priestly ordination of second South Sudanese priest of the Salesians of Don Bosco Charles Taban.
Presiding over Eucharistic celebration on Sunday, El Obeid Emeritus Bishop Macram Max encourages the new priest to abstain from earthly materials, preach the gospel and serves Christian community through the help of Christ, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
Bishop Macram advises Fr Taban to treat people equally, saying a priest should serve God’s people without division.
Fr Taban expresses commitment to serve the church worldwide, thanking God for assisting him in overcoming all challenges of the long journey that started 24 years ago.
About ten thousand faithful of Wau Catholic Diocese and Salesians from Tonj, South Sudan, Sudan and East Africa attended the ordination at Saint Mary Cathedral.
